Music has been a big part of 2025, with many new albums that have been released these past nine months, ranging from different genres like Latin Trap, R&B, and Indie Pop. But which one has been listened to the most/liked the most? Our generation tends to lean towards music mostly for support, so let’s see what type of music we have been coping with.
Hurry Up Tomorrow came out on January 31st by The Weeknd and has already reached 2.4 billion streams on Spotify. The album is about Abel saying goodbye to The Weeknd and finally accepting his past, but now he is fearing the future due to his huge transition retiring The Weeknd . Many teenagers, myself included, listen to this Canadian artist. The Weeknd went on tour in the U.S. from May 9th to September. In those four months, the artist got around 3 million people who attended the Hurry Up Tomorrow Tour.

The Latino community also had an amazing album come out called DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS by Bad Bunny. This album is a love letter to his home, Puerto Rico, blending personal reflections on time and the heartbreak of the effect of colonization and cultural loss on his country. The Puerto Rican artist gathered around 6.8 million streams on Spotify with his new album in just nine months. Bad Bunny launched his tour, which was only held in Puerto Rican stadiums, from July 11th through September 20th. In just three months, 2.4 million people attended, significantly boosting Puerto Rico’s economy.

Different Night Same Rodeo by Bailey General is a completely different genre (country). This is only his second album released and Bailey has had 6.7 billion streams worldwide. This album shows a more vulnerable side of this young actor: his love life, his regrets regarding his love life, the loss he has experienced, and the personal growth he has accomplished throughout his singing career.

As we have seen, this year has been extremely successful for many artists. Now, let’s hear from our Senior Tigers on their favorite albums of 2025. Ariana Alanzo said $Some $Sexy $Songs 4U by Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, which is a completely different genre (Trap music). Vanessa Burgos, Karol Hernandez, Leonel Loza, and Francisco Galicia all agreed that the best album is DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS by Bad Bunny, which is to be expected gievn the huge number or streams in the Latin community.
