With the cozy fall season approaching us, a new wardrobe to keep warm yet fashionable is rolling in. You may be able to find super resourceful clothes and accessories and even some Halloween inspo right in your closet. I’ve gathered some data from our very own freshman – seniors to see what they believe is the ultimate fall fashion wardrobe and compared it to one of the best known magazines for fashion – Vogue

This year’s 2024 fall fashion Vogue magazine labels include suede and leather jackets. Vogue stated that knitted clothing and denim along with plaid shirts are a fall must-haves. Corduroy is considered more fashionable in vests; whereas at EPHS, corduroy pants and plaid skirts are more common than top wear.

Along with leather jackets, leather skirts and pants don’t seem to be going away. You can find them for a more economical price at  places like Target, Forever 21, and Kohl’s. Denim skirts/sharp denims overall are also a big trend this fall. These can be nicely paired with a belt of your comfort zone.

According to my survey, EPHS students had similar thoughts to Vogue – Denim in first, plaid in second, leather in third, and corduroy in fourth place. Vogue captures denim to be their highest ranking for shirts, but some EPHS students find that tacky. Sweatpants were our school’s top pick in pants, whereas Vogue doesn’t pick sweatpants as they see sweats mostly for street wear. Flares were a very close second place.

Let’s get into the spooky season spirit with 9 costume inspos from your feedback:

Horror

Above we have a broken doll costume for the horror movie lovers that want a step up from the Anabelle and Chucky costumes. This look is accomplished by prosthetic makeup and an old vintage dress and or outfit you can pick up from a thrift store or your grandma’s house. Disclaimer: the pictures in this article can be found on Pinterest for reference!
Next we have a more Victorian era look. This costume consists of layering, makeup prosphetics, and a mascarade mask. Regardless of identity, a great horror costume is often unique. You don’t have to go with basic slashers and can customize any look to be your own.

Couple and duo hits

This duo costume is from a commonly known child favorite TV and movie series “Monster High”. This costume is of Cleo and Ghoulia. If you don’t want to go all out, you can use their color pallet and add key components of this look for detail, like glasses and wraps.
For a couples costume, we have this killer look from the movie and musical “Phantom of the Opera”. This Christine and the Phantom look can be remade by using a long, white dress with ruffled sleeves, optional corset, a suit and cape-like structure, and, lastly, half an eye mask.
These next costumes are duo costumes of the show ” Strawberry Shortcake”. For the girls we have Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon Meringue, Plum Pudding, and Blueberry Muffin. Above we have a duo costume of Huckleberry Pie and Strawberry Shortcake. You can find cheap and close outfits of these characters online, like Amazon.
From a recently trending Disney film, we have a  duo/couple costume  from “Ratatouille”. This costume of Linguine and Collete can easily be recreated with white attire and chef hats to give the authentic chef look.
This next costume is for the Superhero lovers. As demonstrated in my poll, an overwhelming amount of people wanted Deadpool and Wolverine to be featured. For a cheaper alternative you can easily pull off this costume with the color pallet and masks.
Lastly we have a Halloween classic, “The Addams Family”, this costume is of Morticia and Gomez. It’s a really romantic idea and only requires a long black dress, a striped suit/ dress shirt and pants, and a bow tie.

I hope this article gave you some good inspo for this fall and Halloween!
