Hello, Tigers! It’s staff reporter, Isabel Rodriguez, bringing you my final article for the school year, and I’ve got a refreshing review to share with you all! As we go into summer, what’s a better way to cool off than a trip to Dunkin’? I recently stopped by to try their popular Refreshers and give you more than my opinion on it. I brought along my boyfriend, Adam.
Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher

Dunkin’ offers a lineup of three different Refreshers that offer exciting flavors to keep things new. One of the three is the Strawberry Dragon Refresher, with its vibrant pink hue that perfectly complements the drink and captures that essence of summer. This energizing drink combines the sweet taste of strawberry with the exotic flavor of dragon fruit, blended with green tea for a refreshing boost. It’s also infused with Vitamin B and gives natural energy from the green tea. This is healthier than other drinks on the menu but just as flavorful. It’s a very exotic combo I think we needed! All Dunkin’ drinks come in small, medium, and large. For this drink, a small is 4.09 with 80 calories, a medium is 4.69 with 130 calories, and a large is 4.99 with 170 calories.
Review: Strawberry Dragonfruit
Isabel 8/10: “I really liked this one, but would I say it’s my favorite? Definitely not. It’s super sweet and refreshing, but even with the green tea, it may be too sweet. One reason I can’t give it a ten is because it leaves a bit of a bitter taste, especially in the after taste. You do get hit with that sweetness from the strawberry and then there’s a nice little hint of dragon fruit. Overall, it’s pretty good and I would recommend trying it!”
Adam 6/10: “I understand what Isabel meant about the bitter aftertaste; that was a big reason why I had to give it a 6. I just couldn’t get past the flavor; it just sticks in your mouth. At first you get a burst of sweetness from the strawberry, which is delicious, and I did notice the green tea, which made it super pleasant, but the bitterness just threw me off. I couldn’t get over it.”
Pineapple Mango Refresher

Next up we have Pineapple Mango with its vibrant yellow-orange color that literally screams summer. Like the Strawberry Dragonfruit, it also has green tea, making it a natural energy drink. In addition, this drink has Vitamin B. The base is a mix of pineapple and mango juice, which gives it a tropical, fruity flavor. The pineapple adds a sour tangy taste while the mango makes it smooth and sweet. A small is 4.09 with 90 calories, a medium is 4.69 with 130 calories, and a large is 4.99 with 170 calories.
Review: Pineapple Mango Refresher
Isabel 2/10: “I took one sip of this drink and, honestly, we left it completely full. I had high expectations going in because I usually love anything with pineapple in it. But this one was nothing like how I expected. It honestly tastes straight up like green tea and when you do get that pineapple-mango, it’s just bitter and tangy. The mix really didn’t go together, and the bitter/sour aftertaste was just a huge no go, and that’s why I gave it a 2. This drink is really disappointing, and I will definitely NOT be getting it again. If you’re someone who really likes that strong green tea taste and a less sugary drink, though, this might actually be the drink for you.
Adam 1/10: “We didn’t end up finishing this drink and we were okay with that. I was expecting that this drink would have a sour taste due to the pineapple in it, but I still thought there would be some type of sweetness to balance it out. At first it does taste straight up like green tea and not in a good way. Then you just taste bitterness, and the sour aftertaste just didn’t mix well. I really thought the mango would add some sort of sweetness to the drink, but everything just tasted sour and off. This drink wasn’t for me and I won’t be getting it again.”
Tropical Guava Refresher

Last but not least, we have the Tropical Guava Refresher. This one mixes guava, passion fruit, and orange flavors, so it’s definitely super tropical and fruity. It also has Vitamin B and green tea, making it an energy drink, just like the other refreshers. It’s a seasonal drink, so it won’t be around all year. If you like tropical drinks, I would definitely get it while you can. A small is 4.09 with 90 calories, a medium is 4.69 with 130 calories, and a large is 4.99 with 170 calories.
Review: Tropical Guava Refresher
Isabel 9/10: “This drink is honestly super sweet but in a good way. You can really taste that guava, and the orange flavor really gives it that tropical flavor. This drink really reminds me of Hawaiian Punch, almost exactly. The green tea is noticeable but it really helps balance out the sweetness. Without the green tea I think it would taste too sweet. I really liked this one and I’m very sad it’s seasonal because I’d totally get it all the time. I really recommend you try this drink, especially over summer break since it’s so fitting. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 10 is because it tastes too similar to Hawaiian Punch and I was honestly expecting something more unique from a major U.S. chain.”
Adam 10/10: “This was the perfect drink to end on. Seriously, it was my favorite drink out of the three. I loved how sweet it was and I tasted a hint of green tea. You can clearly taste the orange flavors, passion fruit, and guava, All those flavors blend amazingly together. There wasn’t any disappointment for me. It’s lowkey sad that it’s seasonal because I would definitely get it throughout the year. So if you’re thinking about getting it, I really would before you can’t any longer. This drink was easily a 10 out of 10.”
Conclusion
Dunkin’ Refreshers are fruity, colorful, and give an energy boost without being too heavy. Some flavors are definitely better than others; it depends on your taste. These Refreshers are definitely good for summer and you should definitely try them out! Thank you, Tigers, for a great school year. Have an amazing summer!
