The Future of Our EPHS Seniors

Hey, Tigers! With summer approaching, that means the 2025-2026 school year is coming to an end. I have interviewed some seniors and asked them what future plans they have coming up.

#1 Daniel Dohoney:

Danny is attending Carrol University, majoring in business and playing football.

What are you most excited for after high school?

“Going out of state to play college football and meeting new people.”

What school will you be attending and what will you be majoring in?

Carrol University. I’ll be majoring in Business Management while playing football.”

Why did you decide on that major?

“I like being in charge. Having a leadership role and getting paid for it sounds like a fit for me and my interests.”

What is your advice for underclassmen looking into applying for college?

“Make sure you use “Common App”; it makes everything so much easier if you’re looking to play sports, go to camps, talk to coaches, and put yourself out there. It’s also important to have a good social media presence.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

“In 10 years from now, I see myself coaching football while working as a project manager for a company.”

#2 Kris Ptack:

Kris Ptack is attending Triton college for her general education.

What are you most excited for after high school?

“Getting used to college life. Even though I’ll be at home, just overall adapting to college life.”

What school will you be attending and what will you be majoring in?

“I plan to go to Triton for two years to get my gen ed (general education) credits and save money. After that, I’d like to attend a bigger university, like Marquette, for accounting/finance.”

Why did you decide on that major?

“Numbers interest me a lot. I found this out over the last couple of years when I got really good with math, so I plan on picking a career that highlights my interest and what I’m good at.”

What is your advice for underclassmen looking into applying for college?

“By the start of your junior year, start narrowing down the schools you want to go to. Think about what you really want to do and what you can see yourself doing for a long period of time in the future.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

In 10 years, I’m hoping to have a successful job in accounting, and while working that job, saving money aside to own a bakery one day.”

#3 Max Ziuzia:

Max is attending Northwestern University for

What are you most excited for after high school?

“Meeting new people, trying to network with people who are in high-level positions, and exploring new things I never got to explore in high school.”

What school will you be attending and what will you be majoring in?

“Northwestern, majoring in history. I might double major in econ and minor in business institutes.”

Why did you decide on that major?

Honestly, history is just always something I liked. I think I figured this out when I took APUSH with Ms. Cleys. It’s always something I enjoyed learning about and I want to try to make a career out of it.”

What is your advice for underclassmen looking into applying for college?

Start early. Try starting at the very start of junior year or even the summer going into junior year. I already knew where I wanted to go, but I started late, which caused stress. Try to space everything out and go to Mrs. Heinen for essay help.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

“Hopefully graduated from college. Being a lawyer is my number 1 goal right now, but I’m not positive about what I really want to be yet.”

#4 Milana Brilyak:

Milana is attending University of Oaklahoma, majoring in meteorology.

What are you most excited for after high school?

“I’m excited to leave town and start college. I love having independence, so being so far from home is going to be a fun change for me. I also can’t wait to be learning about something I’m passionate about.”

What school will you be attending and what will you be majoring in?

“I’m going to The University of Oklahoma, and I’m going to be majoring in meteorology. I’m also planning on minoring in journalism.”

Why did you decide on that major?

“I’ve wanted to go into meteorology since I was in 4th grade. I always used to watch the weather on the news with my grandpa and thought it was the coolest thing ever, and I kinda knew from there what I wanted to do.”

What is your advice for underclassmen looking into applying for college?

“My advice is to get a head start. I feel like I wasn’t stressed at all for deadlines and applications because I started working on essays and my applications as early as I could. It saves you so much stress and time because you aren’t trying to do everything all at once and at the last minute.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

I see myself being pretty wealthy with a happy family. Hopefully I will be working as a broadcast meteorologist somewhere in the south, mainly focusing on severe weather.”

Conclusion

As this school year comes to a close, it is exciting to see all the different paths our seniors are taking after graduation. Whether they are attending college, starting careers, or exploring other opportunities, each senior has worked hard to reach this moment. Their advice given to younger grades of EP students will help incoming seniors to achieve their own success. We wish the Class of 2026 the best of luck; we cannot wait to see what their future holds, but, always remember, once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
