Crumbl Background
Crumbl, a bakery specializing in delicious cookies, arguably has some of the best cookies ever. Co-founded by cousins Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan, Crumbl was started as a family owned business attempting to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Crumbl started off just one location in Logan, Utah, and has since expanded to over 200 locations throughout the United States. Recently, Crumbl opened less than ten minutes away from Elmwood Park located in Brickyard, which is very exciting for all the avid cookie enthusiasts. In this article, one will learn a lot more about Crumbl and get a detailed review of April 8th-13th’s cookie flavors so that one can decide whether or not Crumbl would be worthy of their time.
Picturing Crumbl

Every Crumbl location has a big Crumbl Cookies sign on the storefront with their chef logo next to it. Crumbl has an unmatched vibe due to its consistent light pink and black coloring throughout every location. Just entering the bakery, the enticing aroma hits you like a brick wall. It smells like straight sugar, which is something that many love. While they unfortunately don’t have tables or chairs, they do have an open kitchen so that you can watch your cookies be made. In each location, there is a layout of all the different cookie options so that you can see what each cookie will look like before you buy it, along with a layout of the mini cookies in case you wanted to get Crumbl catered. Not only is there the option of cookies, but they make their own Crumbl ice-cream and they sell cookie cutters for you and your friends to use. The cookie cutters are extremely useful for people that consistently go to Crumbl as the cookies are very messy so it makes life a lot easier.
Ordering Your Crumbl
To order your Crumbl, you can choose to go in store, order for pick-up, or for delivery. This is a very high tech company, so their app is extremely easy to navigate. If one chooses pick-up, they can order for carry-out or curbside pick-up. These are the pricing options: a single cookie for $4.99, a 4-pack for $17.99, a 6-pack for $24.99, or a 12-Pack for $47.99. They have a few drink options such as milk or water, they sell their cookie cutter for $4.99, and they even have their own “Cover Your Cookies” game that they sell for $19.99. If one goes into Crumbl to order their cookies, they can see a big TV on the wall with the different cookie flavors, and the pricing for each box as well. They can choose to order with an employee, or use one of the various IPads set around the store to order for themselves with a card or Apple Pay. After ordering, one waits for an extremely short period of time, and the employee brings out their order, and always asks if their cookies look good. Then one can enjoy the cookie!
The Crumbl Review!
The cookie lineup from April 8th-13th looked absolutely delicious so obviously they had to be eaten. The lineup of flavors were Monster ft. M&M’s candies, Cookie Dough, Cinnamon Scone, Chocolate Cupcake, Lemon Bar, and Milk Chocolate Chip. Continue reading on for detailed descriptions of each so that if these flavors ever reappear, one can know which cookie will be perfect for them!

Cookie Dough
This cookie has a sugar cookie base with over a centimeter thick layer of cookie dough buttercream on top, covered in little cookie dough pieces. This is one of the chilled cookies, and it is absolutely delicious. This cookie tastes just like cookie dough, as described, and everything about it was amazing. One might think that the frosting would be overwhelming or too much, but I feel that it added to the cookie dough effect by making the cookie feel more doughy. I personally am not a fan of cream cheese frosting so the fact that it was buttercream made this cookie so much better for me. Definitely my favorite from the lineup and this cookie will surely pop up again as this isn’t the first week it has been sold.
I would rate this one a 10/10.

Monster ft. M&M’s Candies
This cookie is exactly as the title describes, a monster. It’s filled with all sorts of toppings such as M&M chocolate candies, peanut butter and chocolate chips, and even oats. This cookie is a warm cookie, and is heavily peanut butter based; this cookie is not for those with peanut allergies. I do generally prefer the warm cookies however, I’m just not a chocolate chip cookie person, so this one is not my favorite. It’s almost not sweet enough for me, don’t be tricked though the cookie is very sweet, and I just don’t prefer this cookie to others. The oats were a nice touch, but peanut butter and chocolate cookies just aren’t my favorite.
I would rate this one a 5/10.

Cinnamon Scone
This cookie is a Cinnamon Scone cookie base that is buttered and then has a scoop of cinnamon buttercream frosting on top. Not a layer, but a literal scoop, almost like a sphere. When eating this warmed cookie, I would recommend spreading the scoop out so that the frosting covers the whole cookie. Honestly though, I felt that the frosting was too much. I ended up scooping off the frosting and just eating the cinnamon scone cookie base, which was lovely as there were crispy bits of cooked sugar that made the cookie chewy. The frosting was gross in my opinion but the cookie itself was very good.
I would rate this one a 7/10.
Lemon Bar

This cookie was interesting to say the least. I believe the cookie base was a sugar cookie but I could be wrong as it tasted less sweet than their regular sugar cookies. If you have ever had a lemon bar, the lemon topping on that is what was used for this frosting. It wasn’t sour but still tasted lemony, and was about a centimeter thick as well. The cookie was topped with powdered sugar. I personally am not a fan of the lemon bar topping as it is just too thick for me and tastes oddly sour and sweet at the same time. I would prefer an actual lemon bar to this cookie, however a lemon bar lover that I went to Crumbl with did love this cookie. If you really like lemon bars, I believe that you’ll definitely like this cookie.
I would rate this one a 3/10.

Chocolate Cupcake
This cookie is a lovely chocolate cupcake themed cookie, as said in the name of the cookie. A thick layer of chocolate fudge frosting covers the warm vanilla sugar cookie making the cookie almost like a cake. It is then topped with chocolate sprinkles. This cookie’s frosting is extremely thick and overpowering, so if you’re not a chocolate lover, this cookie may not be for you. I personally did really like this cookie but I couldn’t eat a lot of it because of how much frosting there was. This cookie was very good and if you like chocolate, I would definitely recommend it.
I would rate this one an 8/10.

Milk Chocolate Chip
This looks like your average chocolate chip cookie, however it’s absolutely wonderful. It is giant so I personally would not finish one of these in a whole sitting, but it’s definitely possible. This cookie is huge and crunchy on the outside, but chewy on the inside. If you like doughy cookies, which I do, this is definitely the chocolate chip cookie for you as I feel that it is cooked the perfect amount to where it’s slightly still dough-like but mostly cookie. The chocolate chips are huge as well and are not only in the cookie but on top of it too. I don’t generally buy this cookie at Crumbl because there are so many other interesting flavors, but it’s definitely worth a try at some point.
I would rate this one an 8/10.
Conclusion
Those are April 8-13th’s flavors, and they were absolutely divine. It would definitely be worth one’s time to pop in to Crumbl in the future and try out some cookies as they’re always lovely. Hopefully this article is helpful to everyone’s cookie journeys and feel free to update if any cookies are tried!
