During the holidays, we all look forward to spending quality time with our family and friends, whether that’s going downtown to ice skate or staying in to watch movies while drinking hot cocoa. There is so much to do, and the possibilities are endless. Bonding with your family and friends can boost morale and enhance communication with the ones you love.
Secret Santa
During the Christmas season, we all enjoy receiving gifts, but we also like giving them as well. Secret Santa is like a game: you and all of your friends put your names in a bowl, then pick a random name, and you have to buy a gift for the person you picked. The great thing about this is that the gift doesn’t have to be expensive or luxurious. It’s fun shopping for the gifts based on the person, but it can be stressful if you pull someone’s name and have no idea what they like. Then, on the day you exchange all of your gifts, everyone’s excited to see who got who and what they received. It’s a fun activity to do with friends and family and can potentially bring you closer together.
Baking Treats
One of the greatest gifts of the holiday season is spending time with your loved ones. One activity you can enjoy is baking Christmas cookies or other sweets. When baking, you’re not just following a recipe—you’re showing off your creativity. Baking with others allows you to receive lots of opinions and feedback. And when everything turns out great, you share a sense of accomplishment that you can cherish with your loved ones for a long time.
Watching Movies
There are plenty of ways to get into the Christmas spirit with your family. Not all of them are expensive or require travel. Watching movies with your family provides a sense of comfort and warmth. Not only does it strengthen your connection with your loved ones, but it also helps your mental health by offering relaxation and a distraction from the world around you. There’s a special feeling when watching Christmas movies—everything is wholesome, putting you in a good mood with lots of laughs. And who doesn’t want to sit in front of the TV on a cold, snowy night, watching movies and enjoying quality time with their loved ones?
Conclusion
Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and bonding with your family is the best way to spend it. Christmas brings you and your loved ones closer together. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. Christmas isn’t limited to a certain group of people or country—everyone can celebrate it and do so in their own way. To all who are reading this, may Christmas bring you joy and fill your life with priceless memories. Merry Christmas, Elmwood Park High School!
