Introduction:
Good morning, afternoon, or evening, Tigers! The season some of us dread every year has rolled around, making us- Emilia and Iris- excited to sit alone in our rooms and eat chocolate, but we know we aren’t the only ones. Today we will be doing you a favor and reviewing the top 3 most popular Valentine’s Day chocolates for your partners, families, and friends. We asked you, our Tigers, which chocolates are your favorite to receive/gift on Valentine’s Day through a Google Form and will review the top 3 results. Hopefully this time we’ll get to spend less and leave our pockets with a little cushioning so that we could splurge on ourselves for the upcoming holiday, unfortunately meaning you won’t get to hear our constant whining about prices. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to wait long… just until our next article.
We had you, our readers, respond to our Google Form and pick your favorite Valentine’s Day chocolate. Before we dive into the results, we’d like to give a huge thanks to all 95 of you who took the time out of your day to fill out our Form and make this article possible. Thanks, guys! Starting off with Ferrero Rocher, winning by a long shot, which makes sense since it’s one of the most expensive options and you all clearly hate us; no worries, we’ll get our get back soon. It exceeded our standards, which you can tell from Iris’s past are pretty low, hitting 50%, which is more than any guy ever gave her. Hershey’s Kisses came in 2nd place with 12.8%, and Dove steadily took its position in 3rd place with 9.6%. Now let’s cut this short, like Iris’s last talking stage, and get into what you all came here for, the REAL review!
Ferrero Rocher:

Most of our voters’ top choice, Ferrero Rocher, is a classic, timeless choice that will get any person in a romantic mood. It’s a milk chocolate shaped ball which contains a chocolatey paste and is entrapped by a crispy wafer. The price ranges from $10 to $15 depending on your pack size, which obviously exceeds our budget…you guys know that’s how much Iris gets paid an hour…Okay, we might’ve lied about not complaining about prices, but this is insanity and, honestly, I’m nauseous at the thought. Unfortunately, the calories betrayed our New Year’s diet with 73 calories…not per pack, not for three, not for two, but for EACH and EVERY single one. Not only that, but each piece contains 5 grams of sugar, which honestly isn’t that bad, but imagine eating the entire pack. I’m not saying you would sit down and eat a whole pack in one sitting, but we might…just kidding…it’s bulking season.
I, Iris, rated it a 6/10. While it was many voters’ top pick, it would never be mine, which is nothing new to me considering my last relationship…but I digress. It had a unique texture compared to the others: very crunchy which paired well with the smooth filling, leaving confusion in the mouths of amateurs. However, the sweetness left me nauseated and honestly disgusted…should’ve figured…I mean it is 73 calories. While it wasn’t my favorite, I do see how it may be an attractive pick from time to time, so I do suggest getting this for a loved one if you want to outdo yourself from previous times.
I, Emilia, rated it a 9/10. Both the flavor and texture were very satisfying. I wish I could use the same adjective to describe my love life. I really enjoyed biting into the thin and crunchy exterior, while being exposed to a smooth and creamy interior, almost like compensation for being single my entire life…but enough about me. The sweetness left me pleased…can’t say the same about the price though…thankfully Iris had some on deck from all the times she’s been apologized to by her talking stages, so shout out to them! After careful analysis, I would definitely recommend these as a gift or even just to sulk in your bedroom. Their texture and flavor work and pair so well together, combining to create a stunning appetizer for your Valentine’s Day date.
Hershey’s Kisses:

What’s sweeter than a Valentine’s Day kiss from your significant other? A Hershey’s Kiss! Our second placer, or the first to lose, was none other than the classic Hershey’s Kisses, which are globally known for being a year-round staple. The simple teardrop shaped chocolate is a very prominent choice among those who like to gift-give on Valentine’s Day, but should it be yours? Not if you aren’t willing to spend $4 to $7 on your loved one, but let’s be transparent: if you have the money yet find it hard to spend $5 on them… yikes… clearly all those times you’ve said “I love you” don’t mean much. Onto the calories, unsurprisingly containing the least of the three chocolates being featured here because of its size in comparison to the other two, with 23 calories. Lastly, the amount of sugar, also containing the least of the three, with just 2.6 grams.
I, Emilia, rated it a 6/10. Talk about underwhelming…these might be a classic, but they’re also nothing short of mediocre, at least in my opinion. And don’t get me wrong, the flavor is good but not enough for my standard, as opposed to Iris’s. Besides the flavor and unique shape, there isn’t much of anything else going on, making these boring. If you truly want to stand out and make your date memorable, I’d suggest straying from these and choosing something that’ll really knock your date off their feet, not literally though…you probably wouldn’t get a second date.
I, Iris, rated it a 10/10. Not only is the name romantic but so is the texture: so peaceful and silky paired beautifully with its unique bite sized shape, which is perfect since I will be downing a whole bag of these next period. It wasn’t necessarily creamy but rather a light silky feeling, similar to a VS pajama set or at least what I assume; I can only window shop at the moment. The taste was so perfectly sweet it almost left me bitter. It was chocolatey and milky, no surprises, just a classic with the perfect flavor and perfect texture. Now I just have to find my perfect man.
Dove:

Dove, our bronze bachelor and last review standing. Dove is essentially a small brick of milk chocolate with their logo imprinted on the top…yawning! Though, we don’t have much to complain about with Dove’s prices, similar to Kisses being $5 to $7. I guess doves really are a symbol of peace since now we can go to sleep at night knowing that we still have $3 left in our bank accounts…mmm, just enough to buy a Red Bull. The calories are just slightly more than our silver stallion, standing at 29 calories, just 6 calories more and 44 calories less in comparison to our golden goose, a pretty big leap. It only has 2.9 grams of sugar, and yes I will say only after finding out one Ferrero Rocher has 5 grams!
I, Iris, rated it a 8/10. Its texture was so clearly conveyed through its shape, practically as hard as a brick with nothing special to it. Some call it simple; I call it boring and unoriginal. But if you want your Valentine to not only chip a tooth and leave the little amateur date you set up in disappointment, then this is the perfect choice! (Just jokes! Remember…it’s the thought that counts! Unless it’s a bad one…) Initially I was deeply unimpressed with it, though when it collided with the warmth of my mouth it turned into a creamy and smooth texture. It was practically identical to a kiss though sweeter with a worse initial texture, which definitely deducted points.
I, Emilia, rated it an 8/10. These were quite nice, besides the hard shell on the outside. But once you get to the center, you forget all about how you nearly chipped a tooth in the process, kind of like how Iris forgot to find me a Valentine this year. As the chocolate melts on your tongue, you’ll notice the filling, which is sweet and delicate, just like us. But, seriously, if you’re looking for an inexpensive yet tasty gift for your significant other, consider buying them these. They make a perfect Valentine’s Day treat!
Conclusion:
Now that we gave you the inside scoop on the top 3 Valentine’s Day chocolates, let’s go over the results of our own reviews so that instead of standing around the Valentine’s Day aisle in confusion, you can confidently choose a gift for your significant other. We actually had quite opposite results, with Iris rating the Hershey’s Kisses the highest and Emilia rating them the lowest and vice versa with the Ferrero Rocher. Both of us having lots to complain about…maybe that’s why we’re alone this Valentine’s Day season. Despite our opposing opinions, we were both able to settle on the Dove with an 8/10, which might be your safest bet. Even though we settled, you should never! Hopefully you were able to take our reviews into consideration to pick the best chocolate for your loved ones. Thank you so much for reading and hopefully enjoying our article! We seriously had so much fun writing this, and we can’t wait to see you in the next REAL review!
