Now that fall is here, it’s a great time to explore Chicago. It’s the perfect season to have fun in the city since the weather is not too hot and not too cold. Here are some things you can do if you are looking for ways to enjoy fall in Chicago!
Explore Lincoln Park and Humboldt Park
One thing you can do in the Fall is go for a walk to see the amazing fall colors. You should visit Lincoln Park for a walk around North Pond and South Pond. After walking around for awhile, you should go to the Lincoln Park Zoo or visit the statue of Abraham Lincoln. You could also visit the Theater on the Lake if you enjoy watching plays. Near the lake, you will see ducks and other animals. It’s the perfect place to walk around and take some pictures. It’s also a great place to sit on the benches and listen to the sounds around you. Another great place for a fall walk is Humboldt (Alexander Von) Park to see its lagoons and wildflowers. Make sure to take your phone, so you can take pictures of the leaves and nature around you! After your walk, if you like sports, you should check out the Humboldt Park Soccer Cage to enjoy a game of soccer. Don’t forget to take a sweater since it will probably be windy near the lake!
Visit The Night of 1000 Jack-O’-Lanterns
Something else you can do during Fall in Chicago is visit the Chicago Botanic Garden for their Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns where artist-carved pumpkins will light your way when you enter. The event runs from Oct. 16-20 & 23-27 from 6:30-10:30 pm. This event offers food and drinks, such as cinnamon churro bites, apple cider donuts, street tacos, and hot chocolate, for you to enjoy. Visitors can also wear their costumes to the pumpkin patch, and children can have their faces painted. All children get a glow-in-the-dark temporary tattoo as a bonus treat, and you shouldn’t miss out on the selfie station for a festive photo op as well!
