Background: Who is Ash Trevino?
36 year-old influencer Ash Trevino has gone viral recently due to her being problematic. Trevino started her TikTok account back in 2019, while being a wife to a prisoner. She has been given the name “inmate hopper” because she is notorious for dating many inmates, which she often introduces to her children. She sometimes does this in person and other times through jail calls. She is also currently married to an inmate who she is said to be divorcing this month. This is not her first, but her second, marriage to an inmate. Up until December 23, 2024, she worked at a dental office in Texas. However, she was fired due to her online presence, which she now is committed to full time. She says that “the most I have made on one TikTok live is $12,000.” This is almost more than she would make monthly at her old job.

Mom of the Year
Many people’s main issue with Trevino is how she treats her two teenage daughters, Hailey and Evie. Both Hailey and Evie were primarily raised by their grandmother and don’t even have beds in their mother’s home, even though she says she has full legal custody over them. Both Hailey and Evie are also influencers. Hailey began making videos back when Musical.ly was around and has recently gained fame due to her mother’s success. Evie got TikTok in 2021 and has also gained fame due to her mother. Their mother’s fame has also had negative effects. Both girls have lost a number of friends due to their mother’s online presence. Trevino says, ‘There’s nothing I can do about it,” stating that it “may suck, but that is just life.” Another negative side effect of Trevino’s fame is her exploiting her kids. She will go live with her daughters and even go as far as to attempt to profit off of their misfortune. While Evie was in the hospital, Trevino went live and said “send a galaxy to know about my baby girl’s health.” She was trying to make money off of her poor daughter’s illness.
History Repeats Itself
Trevino is certainly not the first problematic mom on the internet, and she probably will not be the last. Influencers seem to love exploiting their children for money. Parents like Ruby Franke from the channel “8 Passengers,” Savannah and Cole LaBrant from “The LaBrant Family,” and Garret and Jessica Gee from “The Bucket List Family” have all profited off of their children. They post private moments to entertain the world and make money. They do not take into account how their children may feel or grow up to feel about their entire lives posted for the world to see. From funerals to parasite extractions, internet families cross the line of sharing to oversharing. These internet personalities do not know the meaning of the word privacy.

Conclusion
In conclusion, Trevino is not only making her kids, but the whole internet community uncomfortable with her online presence. The way she carries herself in public light is not only classless but also unfair to her children. All children of internet personalities deserve to live a normal private life outside of their parents’ fame. There needs to be laws and regulations against exploiting your kids to make a buck. Stop giving internet families and mothers exploiting their children large platforms.
