Stranger Things Season 5 is coming out November 26th, 2025. You will be able to watch it on Netflix, with a subscription. The first four episodes will be out on November 26th, with three more coming out on Christmas Day. The Series Finale will be out on New Years Eve!

Everyone is super ecstatic about the new season, but before we get into that, we must look back at what happened in Season 4.

Recap on Season 4

Season 4 of Stranger Things was split into two parts. Vecna, a terrifying creature from The Upside Down with a connection to Eleven’s past, started terrorizing Hawkins. He preys on teens with trauma, giving them visions before brutally killing them. Eleven, powerless, went on a journey to regain her abilities with Dr. Brenner, facing her past in the lab. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang was scattered. Joyce and Murray went on a wild rescue mission to save Hopper from a Russian prison, where he was fighting Demobats.  

In Hawkins, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Steve, Nancy, Robin, and Eddie (a new fan fave!) investigated Vecna and The Upside Down’s influence. They discovered clues hidden in Creel House and fought Demobats. Max became a target for Vecna, which led to intense and emotional scenes.  

The season built up to a massive showdown against Vecna, and everyone played a part. Eleven confronted him telepathically, while the Hawkins crew attacked his physical form. Despite their efforts, Vecna succeeded in opening more gates between The Upside Down and Hawkins, which left the town in a very dangerous state. The season ended on a major cliffhanger, setting the stage for the final battle in Season 5. 

Why are people caring that the final season is coming out?

People care about this season coming out because many have spent years watching this series from when it first came out, and it is now coming to an end.  It’s a very entertaining show with lots of twists and turns that keeps people interested and wanting to watch more, which pushed the creators to create more seasons! 

Any major changes in the new season?

We are going to be missing Eddie Munson, Chrissy, and Dr. Brenner in the new season. There are going to be some new characters, but we still don’t know who will die throughout this season. Many people are hoping none of the main characters do, however, we’ve heard this season will be a huge tearjerker. 

What do people think is gonna happen in Season 5? 

People think that since they aren’t showing that much of Steve this season, he’s going to die. However, it’s the complete opposite. There is a theory that Dustin will be making a sacrifice for Steve, instead of Steve sacrificing himself for Dustin. There is a clip from Season 5 of Dustin saying, “We stay true to our friends no matter the cost.” 

People are also assuming that Vecna is going to use Will against everyone else one last time and that Vecna cannot be defeated. With Max’s mind being connected to Vecna’s mind, however, if Vecna does happen to die, then Max’s mind will shut down, which ultimately means she’ll die as well. 

What I think is going to happen in Season 5 is pretty similar to everyone else’s predictions. I obviously don’t want anyone to die, but I do expect one person to die. I think this person will be Max because of how connected she is with Vecna and how much regret she has about the murder of her brother Billy back in Season 3. 

Why is the show ending? 

The Duffer Brothers have explained that they planned to make the show last only 4 to 5 seasons. They initially wanted it to end in four, but the plot ended up being too lengthy to do so. The Duffer Brothers have said, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes,” but they haven’t said anything specific about a possible spin-off show or movie yet. 

Regardless of opinions about how the show will end, the majority of people believe it has been and will continue to be a very good show that a lot of hard work has gone into. So go give it a watch and see how you feel about it! Are you ready to experience The Upside Down? Over and Out.
