Hi, Tigers! In this article, Joshua Martinez and Eben Segarra will be highlighting which ice cream flavors EPHS students consider to be the best. Usually well into the summer, ice cream can be considered an extremely popular treat to eat when it’s terribly hot. Ice cream comes in multiple flavors and the question of which ice cream flavor is the best has been a debated question. There has never, and probably will never be, an answer to this question, but in this article we will explain which ice cream flavor is the most popular among our peers at EPHS.
3rd: Chocolate (4 Votes)
In third place, we have chocolate with 4 votes. Chocolate is a great flavor that many people enjoy. It has also been said that one of the best aspects of chocolate ice cream is the sugary after taste that it leaves, potentially boosting your mood. Some people also have chocolate ice cream as their go-to flavor due to its very simple concept, which makes it almost impossible to mess up. One person responded to our survey saying that “It’s tasty, classic, and many people love chocolate.” Chocolate ice cream is always going to be a staple in ice cream history. As the response said, it is a “classic.”
Fun Fact: In 1775, an Italian doctor had suggested that chocolate ice cream could treat medical conditions, like scurvy and gout.
2nd: Mint chocolate chip (4 votes)
In second place, we have mint chocolate chip ice cream. Mint chocolate chip is a unique option seeing as it is the only mint flavor mentioned in our poll. Despite being made nearly 300 years after chocolate ice cream, it still was able to steal many people’s hearts with its distinct blend of sugar and mint, which may be the reason for its popularity. When asked about the best ice cream flavor, mint chocolate chip is typically on people’s top 10 list, maybe even top 5, making it one of the popular flavors across the world! One common response about mint chocolate chip ice cream from our survey was that “It’s got a ton of variety.”
In 1st place, the best flavor is: Cookies and Cream (5 votes)
In first place, we have cookies and cream ice cream. Cookies and cream is a basic ice cream that blends vanilla ice cream with chunks of cookies. Cookies and cream takes a basic topping and turns it into an actual flavor of ice cream. Cookies and cream can come in multiple varieties as the type of cookie can be swapped out with whichever one you prefer. Most famous, however, is the Oreo type that is usually in store-bought tubs. Cookies and cream is widely considered better than the basic flavors, such as vanilla and chocolate. Cookies and cream is almost always on people’s top 5 list, regardless of who you ask. One extremely passionate response to our survey states, “It’s not just a dessert; it’s a frozen, elevated version of a classic snack that feels both familiar and indulgent.” This further demonstrates why cookies and cream is considered one of the best ice cream flavors.
Conclusion
In all, summer is able to bring the joy of ice cream back to many people, but we still will have our flavor preferences. The most voted on best ice cream flavor by EP students who filled out our survey only won by 1 vote, while the others were tied. The runner ups to the top 3 listed above were butter pecan (with 3 votes) and vanilla (with 3 votes). If you haven’t already, try the flavors mentioned in this article, as they are the most voted on as best for a reason. With the weather warming up, we suggest you go explore the many flavors of ice cream available as they can range from quite literally anything.
